My final semester's classes began last week and I start an internship in DC next week.Ī lot of people have told me "it'll work out" in the end, but after the amazing things I've been able to achieve through striving for an education, I've learned that you must put the work in to make it work out. My plan had been to wait on my student refund, but this morning after 2 weeks of back and forth, I was informed by Bursar that no refund credit is on my file and that I owe a balance, despite records on my end showing the contrary. To make a long story short, right now I sit in my grandmother's home 700 miles away from college because I simply cannot afford to go. I debated back and forth on whether or not to post this, but recent news has made this extremely important to me. We will soon add another great name to our literary canon! I am so excited for Gabriel and the future of The Writer's Guild at Howard University. I had one simple, but ambitious mission: to further the great literary tradition at Howard University. One and a half years ago, I started The Writer's Guild at Howard University as part of my commitment-to-action for Clinton Global Initiative University ('22) under Megan Rosenberger's mentorship.
